Dr. Yam

Yamilette Williams Ed. D.

Founder and Chief Learning Advocate

Dr. Williams aka “Dr. Yam” has more than twenty years of experience as a learning-focused leader in the business and education community.

As an internationally certified John Maxwell Team member, she provides coaching, lunch and learns, leadership assessments, masterminds, keynotes and training events (F2F/Virtual). Dr. Yam partners with business communities, locally and nationally, that pursue a growth mindset. A great joy for her is hosting youth development events where kids become aware of their greatness and value to others. Her most recent work involves supporting aspiring entrepreneurs as they take their dreams to launch — she understands that starting a business with the proper support, coaching and mentoring from the wisdom of those who have taken that path is invaluable.

In the K12 arena, she has served as a student-focused district administrator in urban school districts, program coordinator, department chair, college instructor and classroom teacher. Most recently she served as the Chief of Curriculum Assessment and Instruction for the second largest district in New York. There she led: the design and deploy of the new common core state standards including a new comprehensive online common formative assessment for K-12 ELA and Math, and post assessments in core and encore areas; the implementation of a site based instructional coach support model and PLC using a data-driven instruction process for 50 sites: a grassroots Aspiring Leaders development program, the design of instructional frameworks aligned to the learning walk process, all while ensuring her service focused team strives to work at peak performance and progress towards district strategic goals.

With her extensive consulting experience, she has deployed and managed state and district-wide initiatives. As a change agent, she works with senior management teams and conducting strategic planning processes to implement change within learning and corporate organizations. Dr. William’s strength lies in collaborating with state divisions, district superintendents, community partners and contractors to ensure program coherence takes place for optimal growth.

Dr. Williams received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University, her Master of Arts in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma.
